Origins of Goole Pop-Up Shop

DATES

From 17 Jul 2026 (hours to be confirmed)

LOCATION

30 Carlisle Street, Goole

A heritage pop-up at 30 Carlisle Street — home of local makers’ shop Primrose Gifts — hosting the Origins of Goole exhibition, which tells the story of the town’s founding by the Aire and Calder Navigation Company. Unlike towns that grew gradually over centuries, Goole was planned from the outset in 1826, with docks, warehouses, streets and housing laid out together to serve the new port; the displays trace how that single business decision created one of Britain’s most distinctive company towns.

The pop-up opens on Friday 17 July 2026, timed for the Big Bicentenary Weekend, and entry is free. Alongside the exhibition you can pick up official Goole merchandise, and the shop is also the ticket point for the Bicentenary Treasure Hunt. Opening hours and closing date are still to be confirmed — check the Goole 200 what’s-on listings before making a special trip.
